KTFC Loei City Football Club (Thai สโมสรฟุตบอลเคทีเอฟซี เลย ซิตี้), is a Thailand semi professional football club based in Loei Province. The club currently plays in Thai League 4 North Eastern Region.
History
Founded in 2009, Loei joined the new Thai football setup and started at the 3rd level setup, the Regional League North-East Division.
Loei duly came out on top come the end of the regular league season, thus claiming their first ever championship and also crowned as the first ever winners of the Regional League North-East Division.
On winning the championship, Loei entered the 2009 Regional League Championships. An end of season mini-league for all 5 Regional League Division 2 championship winning teams.
They retained 2010 Thai Division 2 League North Eastern Region title. For the second consecutive season they entered 2010 Regional League Division 2 play-offs. Yet again the Division 1 eluded them, and disappointingly Loei finished bottom in their mini-league.
O Loei City foi fundado em 2019 por um grupo de empresários locais, com o objetivo de promover a província de Loei através do futebol. O clube começou a competir na Thai League 4, a quarta divisão do sistema de ligas de futebol na Tailândia, e foi promovido à Thai League 3 em 2021, após vencer o play-off de promoção.
O Loei City é um time relativamente jovem, mas já conseguiu se estabelecer como um dos times mais fortes da Thai League 3. Na temporada de 2022, o clube terminou em terceiro lugar, e disputou a repescagem do acesso à Thai League 2. O time, porém, perdeu a final para o Phrae United por 1 a 0.
O principal jogador do Loei City é o atacante brasileiro Rafael Bastos, que marcou 15 gols na temporada de 2022. Outros jogadores importantes do time são o meia tailandês Kritsada Kaman e o zagueiro tailandês Nattawut Sombatyotha.
O Loei City é um time em ascensão, e tem potencial para se tornar um dos melhores times da Tailândia. O clube conta com uma boa estrutura, e tem um elenco forte e competitivo.
