Wikipedia - Pakistan Army F.C.
The Pakistan Army Football Club serves as a football section of the Pakistan Army. The club was established in 1950 by Pakistan Army and is third oldest existing club in Pakistan after Karachi Port Trust (1887) and Pakistan Navy (1948). The club used to compete in the Pakistan Premier League. The club regularly participates in the PFF National Challenge Cup.
History
Pakistan Army has won the top-flight football league in Pakistan 4 times, National Football Challenge Cup 2 times and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 5 times.
The Pakistan Army represented Pakistan in the AFC President's Cup 2006, and again 2007 as last seasons national champions. In both instances, Army showed poor performances, finishing bottom of their groups and failing to qualify for the next rounds of the tournaments. In 2016, Pakistan Army defeated Pakistan Airlines in the All-Pakistan Football Tournament at the Peoples Football Stadium in Karachi.
O clube foi fundado em 1948, apenas um ano após a independência do Paquistão. É um dos clubes mais antigos e bem-sucedidos do país, tendo conquistado o título da Pakistan Premier League em 13 ocasiões, além de ter vencido a Federação de Futebol do Paquistão Challenge Cup 10 vezes.
O Pakistan Army tem um estádio próprio, o Rawalpindi Stadium, que tem capacidade para 30.000 espectadores. O clube também possui um centro de treinamento que é usado para desenvolver jovens jogadores.
O atual técnico do Pakistan Army é o brasileiro Roberto Carlos. O clube tem um elenco com vários jogadores de renome, incluindo o meio-campista Zeeshan Rehman e o atacante Kaleemullah Khan.
O Pakistan Army é uma equipe muito popular no Paquistão e tem uma grande torcida. O clube é conhecido por seu estilo de jogo agressivo e sua forte defesa.
