Perpetual Altas

The Perpetual Altas or the UPHSD Altas are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) team of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA. They are also popularly known as the Perps.

Since joining the NCAA in 1984, the senior varsity basketball team only made the NCAA Finals twice. In spite of the poor financial support, their biggest run was in the late 1980s, led by the "big three" Bong Hawkins, Eric Quiday, and Ronald Sy, against the SSCR Stags' "big three", Paul Alvarez, Eugene Quilban, and Nap Hatton. They are the only NCAA basketball team that joined in the 20th century that's still in the NCAA to have never won a men's basketball championship.

The Altas have been successful in other sports, winning titles in volleyball and in the NCAA Cheerleading Competition.

The senior varsity teams may also be referred to as the Altas. The juniors' team are the UPHSD Junior Altas (formerly the "Altalettes"), while the women's teams are the UPHSD Lady Altas.

O Perpetual Altas é uma equipa de basquetebol universitário filipino que compete na National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). É a equipa desportiva da Universidade Perpétua de Ajuda System (UPHAS), em Las Piñas, Metro Manila.

Fundado em 1968, o Perpetual Altas é uma das equipas mais antigas e bem-sucedidas na história da NCAA. Ganhou o Campeonato Nacional da NCAA nove vezes, mais recentemente em 2013. A equipa também ganhou o título de Campeão do Sul da NCAA cinco vezes, mais recentemente em 2018.

Os Perpetual Altas são conhecidos pelo seu estilo de jogo rápido e agressivo. A equipa é composta por jogadores talentosos e experientes, que são capazes de marcar muitos pontos. Os Perpetual Altas são também uma equipa muito física, que é capaz de defender bem.

O atual treinador dos Perpetual Altas é Frankie Lim. Ele é um treinador experiente, que já levou a equipa a muitos títulos. Ele é conhecido pelo seu estilo de treinamento duro, mas justo.

Os Perpetual Altas são uma das equipas de basquetebol mais populares nas Filipinas. Eles têm uma grande base de fãs, que apoia a equipa em todos os jogos. Os Perpetual Altas são também uma equipa muito respeitada pelos seus adversários.
